How accessible is our website?
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
Our intention is to continue improving our website and dashboard over time and work towards WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
As our website and digital tools continue to evolve, our focus is to also have regular reviews from external auditors to ensure that we are continuously improving the accessibility of our website.
How we design and review accessibility
Accessibility is considered throughout the design and development.
This includes:
- designing with accessibility in mind from the start
- writing content in plain language
- testing colours, contrast, layout, and navigation
- checking pages across different devices and screen sizes
- testing with customer to understand real experiences.
During the design phase, we completed extensive usability testing with customers, including people who use NDIS supports. This helped inform many accessibility and usability decisions.
Moving forward we plan to:
- complete regular accessibility reviews with a trusted external accessibility organisation.
- review accessibility as new tools and features are introduced.
- continue testing with customers and people that support them.
Some of our key accessibility features
- Inclusive font - our digital product use Inclusive Sans as their font of choice as it is designed for accessibility and readability.
- Skip links - we use skip links on all pages to make navigation easier for keyboard users.
- Broad level or access - our site has been developed to function properly with a broad range of assistive technologies, so our website is accessible to every user.
- Keyboard access - every page of our website is accessible through keyboard controls.
- Alt text and Aria labels - we’ve set relevant and descriptive Alt text to our images and Aria labels to our buttons and headings.
- Layout - All pages have been designed by default at a larger layout and left alignment to improve legibility, and structured to work across a broad range of devices.
- Colour contrast compliance - All text and navigation elements adhere to WCAG 2.1 AA or above contrast values.
- Scalable components - All page elements have been tested to support font size increase in the browser to maintain the integrity of the layout (within reason).
Assistive technology
We have designed the website to support assistive technologies such as screen readers and keyboard navigation.
However, we recognise that some experiences may not work perfectly in all situations. We will continue testing and improving these areas over time.
Ongoing improvements
Our website and content continue to change, particularly as NDIS information is updated.
As part of our ongoing commitment, we aim to:
- improve accessibility as content changes
- review existing pages over time
- complete regular accessibility audits
- progress toward WCAG 2.2 AA as standards and technology evolve.
Accessibility is an ongoing journey, and we are committed to learning and improving.
Known accessibility limitations
We are aware that some parts of the website may not be fully accessible yet.
PDF documents
We do our best to create accessible PDF documents. Some PDFs are produced using external systems, which can limit how accessible they are.
If a document does not work for you, we can:
- provide the information in another format, or
- talk you through the content.
Please contact us so we can support you.
Userway accessibility widget
Our website includes an accessibility widget to support some users. We understand that accessibility widgets can have limitations and may not meet everyone’s needs, and from time to time we may temporarily remove the Userway Widget so we can conduct accessibility audits using other technology.
We do not rely on this tool alone and continue working to improve the underlying accessibility of our website.
Zoom and screen enlargement
The website supports zoom up to 400%, in line with accessibility guidelines.
At higher zoom levels, some features such as live chat may appear very large or overlap other content. We continue to review and improve this experience.
Accessibility and inclusion
Plan Partners and our parent company, MMS, are committed to accessibility and inclusion. We work to improve access across our people, workplaces, products and services.
