'Moving into Plan Partners was an easy decision for me. I can now guide other families through the complexities of the NDIS.'
What has been your favourite Plan Partners moment?
Every moment at Plan Partners has been valuable for me. Each customer touches my heart in their own way. However, I recently worked with one of our younger customers and with our support he was now able to find a support worker who couldn’t be a better match for him. It was so good to see his happy face when he talked about a sailing trip with his new support worker, I was so happy for him. He now feels empowered to make his own choices and go out and about with people he likes. To be able to make that difference in someone’s life is just amazing.
Who's with you on the photo?
That's Nicole from the Gold Coast, one of my customers. Her goal is to find a job in aged care as she loves the make older people smile - it makes her feel like she is making a real difference to someone's life. I'm now supporting her with realising that goal, which I'm sure will happen!
What did you do before Plan Partners?
Before Plan Partners I worked as a Customer Service Officer and studied wedding planning. Wedding planning has always been a passion of mine and now that I work for Plan Partners I do weddings on the weekends. Moving into Plan Partners was an easy decision for me. Both my aunty and my Grandmother had MS and I supported them going through the NDIS process. At Plan Partners, I can now guide other families through the complexities of the NDIS and really give back to the community.
What drives you?
The smile of relief and tears of joy when you are able to support a family in making their life better. And to be able to be part of a team that is determined to make a big difference across Australia.
What advice would you give someone starting their NDIS journey?
Think big! Your dreams don’t have to be kept a secret, live them! The NDIS gives you an opportunity to realise these dreams – so speak up, dare to ask silly questions – you deserve to live your dream!
