"The ultimate goal of my work is to get my customers to a point that they no longer need me and are empowered to take full control and ownership of their NDIS journey"
What is your role with Plan Partners?
I’m a Support Coordinator with the Victorian metro team. I help people to interpret the often complex language of the NDIS and work with them to get the most out of their plan.
What did you do before Plan Partners?
Right before joining Plan Partners, I was Team leader of a day service in inner west Melbourne for adults with disabilities - but I’ve worked in the disability and mental health sector since 2001.
What has been your favourite Plan Partners moment?
There’s so many that it’s hard to pick one, but the common thread through every one of those moments is the incredible people I get to work with – both customers and our team. I’m incredibly glad I get to spend my working days with so many warm, intelligent, helpful and generous people. It really is the people that make Plan Partners great.
What drives you?
The connection with people and seeing them smile, flourish, grow in confidence and stand up for themselves. For me the ultimate goal of my work is to get my customers to a point that they no longer need me and are empowered to take full control and ownership of their NDIS journey.
What advice would you give someone starting their NDIS journey?
Think about what you want your life to look like and where you really want to be in 1, 5, even 10 years’ time and plan for that. It’s easy to get caught up on focussing on the short term and what you need to survive now, but the NDIS can offer so much more than that – so think big.
