Quick Q&A with Emilie Miller

We ask Emilie about the importance of teamwork and how reliable support can be so important when juggling a busy schedule of work and family!

Hi Emilie, can you tell us a bit about your Plan Partners journey?

I chose Plan Partners because they already had a strong connection with the disability and adaptive sports community through their sponsorship of Wheelchair Rugby Australia.

As a Paralympic athlete, that alignment really mattered to me. I wanted a team that genuinely understood the realities of disability, independence, travel, training, and day-to-day life — not just the paperwork side of things.

Having reliable plan management support also means I can spend more time focusing on family life, sport, and the things that matter most to me.

Is there anything that’s surprised you about having a plan manager?

One thing that has been unexpectedly helpful is just how much mental load it removes. Between being an athlete, managing support workers, travelling, and now navigating life as a new mum to our son Max, there are already so many moving parts.

Knowing invoices, budgets, and admin are being handled properly gives me real peace of mind. It’s support behind the scenes that genuinely makes everyday life run more smoothly.

What would you say to someone thinking about getting extra support?

I’d say don’t underestimate how important the right support team is. Good support should make your life feel easier, more empowering, and more aligned with your goals.

Everyone’s needs are different, but finding people who actually listen, communicate well, and understand your lifestyle makes a huge difference.
