<p><strong>[00:00:06]</strong> Hey there, Trish from here and welcome to My NDIS Cribs — SDA edition.</p>
<p><strong>[00:00:19]</strong> Before we get into the practicalities of SDA property and how Summer Housing made this possible for me, let’s take a quick tour of my new place.</p>
<p><strong>[00:00:28]</strong> Here we have the kitchen, all set up and ready to go.</p>
<p><strong>[00:00:36]</strong> To the right, there’s a great space for a TV — let me know, 70 inch or 85 inch?</p>
<p><strong>[00:00:43]</strong> Let’s head through to the bathroom.</p>
<p><strong>[00:00:47]</strong> As you can see, it’s beautifully accessible.</p>
<p><strong>[00:00:53]</strong> It flows into my bedroom with amazing views — I’ll put my double bed here and wake up to that view.</p>
<p><strong>[00:01:04]</strong> Let’s head back through to the living room.</p>
<p><strong>[00:01:10]</strong> All of this will be automated once I move in, which is fantastic.</p>
<p><strong>[00:01:18]</strong> And that’s the tour of the living room and kitchen area.</p>
<p><strong>[00:01:24]</strong> Now, what better place to talk about my new unit than the balcony?</p>
<p><strong>[00:01:32]</strong> The great news is I’ve received a positive outcome from the SDA for a one-to-one unit.</p>
<p><strong>[00:01:42]</strong> I previously received a conditional offer from Summer Housing for this unit, pending SDA approval.</p>
<p><strong>[00:01:50]</strong> Once the paperwork is finalised and the lease is signed, this will officially be my home.</p>
<p><strong>[00:01:56]</strong> Summer Housing is the SDA provider and issued the conditional offer.</p>
<p><strong>[00:02:06]</strong> I was assigned a Tenancy Support Officer who worked with me to customise the unit to my needs.</p>
<p><strong>[00:02:16]</strong> In this building, SIL operates as a concierge-style service.</p>
<p><strong>[00:02:24]</strong> That means support is available for emergencies or needs outside my regular core supports.</p>
<p><strong>[00:02:28]</strong> I still have my core supports assisting with personal care and community access.</p>
<p><strong>[00:02:40]</strong> SIL arrangements can vary depending on your circumstances and the building you’re in.</p>
<p><strong>[00:02:44]</strong> To learn more about SIL, speak to your Support Coordinator, Plan Manager, or Tenancy Support Officer.</p>
<p><strong>[00:02:56]</strong> You might notice there’s no furniture yet — that’s because there are still modifications to complete before I move in.</p>
<p><strong>[00:03:03]</strong> I walked through the unit with my Tenancy Support Officer and OT to assess customisations.</p>
<p><strong>[00:03:10]</strong> We prepared a report including items like automatic blinds, automated doors, and lowering sinks to suit my needs.</p>
<p><strong>[00:03:23]</strong> These changes will help me be more independent within my own home.</p>
<p><strong>[00:03:26]</strong> My move has also triggered an NDIS review to assess additional supports required.</p>
<p><strong>[00:03:34]</strong> I may need additional core supports, such as more support workers at home.</p>
<p><strong>[00:03:47]</strong> Once the review is finalised, my move-in date should be very soon.</p>
<p><strong>[00:03:54]</strong> This unit perfectly aligns with my NDIS goals.</p>
<p><strong>[00:03:57]</strong> It’s close to my workplace and near pubs and friends, making social and recreational activities easier.</p>
<p><strong>[00:04:12]</strong> In many ways, this feels like my forever home, and I can’t wait to move in.</p>
