What's changed in the 2026-27 Pricing Schedule?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Annual Pricing Review (APR) examines what are considered appropriate NDIS prices for the 2026-27 financial year. It considers market conditions, costs, and participant outcomes to ensure pricing remains sustainable, fair, and value driven.
This guidance is then used to inform the NDIS Pricing Schedule and Support Catalogue. This year there has been a few updates, so read on to find out what's changed and if you have any questions just let us know.
Changes for the 2026-27 year
Reviewing the disability support worker (DSW) cost model
The amount disability support workers are paid is increasing in line with recent changes to the minimum wage, with the new hourly base cap set to be $73.58.
An increase was also passed on to psychosocial recovery coaching, with a new national price cap of $110.44 per hour.
New support worker line items
The updated Pricing Schedule has introduced specific line items for DSW services, there are four:
- Level 1: Standard levels of care, STA, SIL, community and group activities.
- Level 2: High intensity levels of self-care, STA, SIL, community and group activities. This level is for complex behaviour supports.
- Level 3: Guidance and support for carers and parents, support with transitioning through school and further training, employment support and assistance, individual social skills development, development of practical life skills, support with life transition planning, assistance with accommodation and tenancy responsibilities, and capacity building in self-management and plan management.
- Level 4: Psychosocial recovery coaching and assistive technology.
Support Coordination and Plan Management fee unchanged
Administration fees for Support Coordination and Plan Management services are not changing.
You won’t pay any more or less for your Support Coordination and Plan Management, these will still be paid separate to your other supports, from your NDIS plan, at no cost to you.
Short Term Respite (STR) to be unbundled
The current pricing guidance for STR (bundled):
- Accommodation, food, utilities and DSW costs are combined into a single daily claim, without separating disability-related supports and non-disability living costs, such as food and utilities.
NEW pricing guidance for STR from 1 July (unbundled):
- STR will be unbundled, with separate line items for accommodation and support-related costs. Allowing claims to reflect the actual hours, timing and intensity of the support delivered.
- In short, the ratio component of worker to participant is being removed entirely, so providers will need to itemise and claim each component of an STR stay individually, rather than claiming one bundled rate.
Once separated from the support costs, the accommodation part of STR should be aligned with the existing price for Medium Term Accommodation (MTA) at $162.85.
Adjustments to nursing and capital supports
Prices for Nursing and ‘other supports’ not covered by DSW-related supports, Capital supports or otherwise covered in the Annual Pricing Review, should increase by around 3.4%.
Additional Therapy-related line items
Separate line items should be introduced for claiming non-face-to-face therapy support provision, including activities such as:
- Provider travel
- Preparation
- Documentation
- NDIS-requested reporting.
These line items would allow non-face-to-face activities to be claimed and recorded separately, with the goal of improving transparency and accuracy in claiming.
Some changes to allied health caps and line items
The below updates to price caps have been announced, all other allied health price caps have stayed the same.

- Fees for psychology and specialist behaviour support have increased by 8%, bringing the national rate to $252.99 per hour.
